LockBit now not world’s No. 1 ransomware gang

Effectively-known ransomware gang LockBit has been usurped because the world’s prime ransomware gang, in response to a current report from NCC Group.

For the previous eight months, LockBit has led the world in ransomware assaults. However the group had its belongings seized in February in reference to a crackdown by The Nationwide Crime Company of the UK, working along with the FBI and worldwide regulation enforcement, generally known as “Operation Chronos.”

LockBit ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) was launched in 2019, and by 2022, it was vying with Russia-backed Conti for the highest ransomware group. Conti’s disintegration into smaller teams led the best way for LockBit to take the highest slot, promoting entry to its ransomware to third-party cybercriminal teams, with a fee scheme for cash obtained as ransom from assaults.
