The common stolen cargo worth doubled to $336,787, up from $168,448 in Q3 2024, “clear proof that cargo thieves have gotten extra strategic in choosing targets,” the Versik CargoNet report says.

“Organized crime teams are in a transitional section, adapting to anti-fraud instruments deployed throughout the logistics business,” the report provides.

As soon as criminals know the place vehicles are going, the commonest places for cargo theft are truck stops and parking heaps, distribution facilities and warehouses, ports and rail yards, highways and relaxation areas, it mentioned.
